Office of Ordnance, Auckland, August 2Bth, 1848. NOTICE is hereby given, that Tenders will be received at this Office, until noon of the 25th September next, from persons willing to undertake the performance of the following Services at the Military Barracks, Auckland, for one year, from the Ist October, 1848, to the 30th September, 1849. viz, — Washing and Repairing Soldiers' and Hospital Bedding, Sweeping Chimnies. Emptying and Removing Soil from Cess« pools and Ashpits. Persons whose tenders may be accepted will be required to give reasonable security for the due performance of their engagements. Every particular relative to these services may be obtained by application at the Barrack Office, Fort Brittoraart, between the hours of 9 and 3 o'clock, on any day previous to the 25th proximo ; where also forms of tender can be seen. He was got by the well known horse Captain, out of a brood mare got by the celebrated horse Chance. terms : Por One Mare £2 2s. Groomage 0 ss. If more than two Mares a reduction will be made. TO COVER, THE ENSUING SEASON, THE well-known Horse « MATCHLESS," imported from England, and formerly sold to Sir J. Jamieson for £450. Matchless is six years old, and for strength and appearance is unequalled in the colonies. He will travel the Tamaki and Epsom districts every Tuesday and Saturday, Auckland Monday and Thursday, and may be seen on Wednesdays at George's Royal Hotel, Qnehunga.
