JEWISH FORM OF THANKS GIVING.
The Rev. Dr. Adler, chief rabbi of the members of the Jewish penuasion, has issued the following form of prayer and thanksgiving for the safe delivery of her Majesty. " Almighty God 1 Lord of Mercy ! thou who art u'l of compassion and aboundfst in grace; and who lookest down from thy habitation upon the yet unborn child that it become the delight of the earth ; we appear before thee this day with thanksgiving for thy mercy which is renewed every morning, and for thy goodness with w ich thou hast rewarded us, in assisting and strengthening our august Sovereign in the hour of her travail ; for thou didst relieve her so that she waa safely delivered of a daughter. 0 Lord, shield and protect the tender ir.fant Prince's. Let no evil hi fdl her; let thy loveliness he upon her; may she thrive, and her beuuty be as ths olive trae. " Aggrandize, O Lord, the glory of our Most Giacious Sovereign, the Lady Queen Victoria ; and her illustrious consott, his Royal Holiness I'rince Albeit; crown him with lustre and honour. Let their oihpnng flourish like Lebanon ; besiow thy special b'c-sing upon the jouthlul Prince, in whom future generitionl shall rejoice, Albert Edward I'rime ot Wales ; to»cther with all the royal scioni. As the morning is spread upon the mountains, so let thy mercy lie extended over them, that all who see them may acknowledge that they are the seed that is blessed. " Let thy blessing descend upon Adelaide the Queen Dowager; prolong her years, to the j.jy of all the upright of heart; and let all the Royal Family be compassed with favour as will) a bhield. " O Lord, thou ha»t dominion, who hast get a law to the sea, assigned a weight to the wind, andoidained a vocation for each man, tuou hast cms d our anoimed Sovereign to inliericthe throne of hoi ancestors, in this huppy realm wheie mercy and tiutli raiM, where eveiy mm enjoys the goodness ol the land nu>| abides in safely in his dwelling. As thou hast shown her thy marvellous kindness, even so grant to continue it unto her, and permanently cbtablis.li her throne.
