A fine new schooner called Ihe Ellen and Eliza, arrived in hatbour on Monday evening from Bribbune water, having been built thr/e by Mr. John Booth, for Me W3. Stewart and Coieson of Sydney. She is ot 45 Lor.s, builfei's measuretccnt, and her dimensions arc, 46 feet keo', 51 feet oveivll, 16 feet tix inches henm^ G feet 2 inches, depth of hold.— Sydney Ha aid, July 2(3. TiC w.eck of the cchooner Wanderer was pv.t up to public auction yesterday by Mr. G. A. Lloyd, for the benefit of the undcswiteis, and knocked down to Mr. William Northwood for the turn of £83. The cargo was afterwards put up, on a count of whom it may concern, when Mr. NorthwcoJ became the purchaser of that also, tor tlie sum of Xll. Two of the mails by this vessel, one from Uobart 'town for Sydney, and the other from Launceston for London, were picked up on Wednesday evening diifting into Little Manly Beach, and fonvauled to the Post Office yesterday— the ma 1 from Launceston to Sydney is sill missing,— Sydney Herald, July 14. , 1 The Emma, Post Office Packet, left Gravesend on ihe 2nd March, hut in consequence of getting ashore on Margate Sands the following day, was compelled to put back, discharge the principal part of her caigo. and go into dock for repairs. She reloaded and sailed again from the Downs on Ihe 24th March, thus making the passage m one hundred and eighteen daya. On the 25th June, in latitude 39 "1 S , longitude 103' E., •he experience! a terrific gale of wind, in which she lost her tnam-topmaut, main-yard, mizen-topmast, and bore top-gallant yard. This circumstance, coupled ■with the tnisfoitune of meeting wiih very adverse winds on making Bass's Straits, which compelled her to steer a course round Van Diemen's Land, has considerably prolonged her voyage. She brings an unusually large mail, consisting of forty bags, the usual »ize. No vessels connected with the colonies have been spoken by Ler, but oi> Tuesday last she passed a trig off Green Cape, suppos-ed to be the Hi.ro, hence for Adelaide — Sydney Herald, July 21. A now three-masted schooner, called the Helen, arrived in harbour on Wednesday last, from the Bellinger River, having been built there by Mr. M'Donald, for Messrs. Inder and Tebbutt, of Sydney. She is of about 90 tons builder's measurement, and her dim nBions are 73 ieet over-all, G8 feet keel, 17 feet beam, and 7 feet depth of hold. She has on boaid 45,000 feet cedar.— llnd. . The Emigiant Commissioners adverti c for two anips for Sydney and two for Melbourne, to sail in May. The overland mails from Sjdney per Ins, hence the 3rd December, arrived in London on the 25th Riarch.
Portsmouth.— The Carysfort, 2G, Captain Ge rge IT. Seymour, arrived at Spithead March 15, from the Pacific. She bailed from Valparniso on the 2nd of Decembsr in company with the Collin^wood, 80, nnJ the Conßtance, 50, and parted company on the sth. She arrived at C.iliia on the 24th of January, and Biiled thence on ihs 29th direct for En-laud. Affdiis at Bahia at this date was very flourishing. Kate of E<chanpe 47 j ; d. per milrei for Government bills. At Caliia she met the Hca/uU. packet, with the Iloa. Mr. Gnri", the Hritish Envoy, on board, from Rio.
