IMPORTANT FROM GREECE. (From the Morning Herald.)

The Governor of l'atras lnd been maflo piisoner, tnd the garrison, too weal to resist the numbers of the people, had been obliged to 6cek shelter in the fortresses, where supplies of lood could scarcely i each them. In a skirmish with the insurrectionists and the military, five ot the latter lost their lives. No accounts of the casualties anv.ng the former have i cached us. The Flama , on reaching Z mte, sent the Spitfire steamer to P.itrav to render all the assistance in her power to the English residents there. The Locust steamer has had her fireß up to day, and it is thought will yet under weigh immediately. News from the fleet had reached Malta. The Bulldog steamer, off Sardinia, has had a narrow escape of coming into collision with the Rodney, 90. It was blowing fresh, the night dark, and the Rodney bowling along with a spanking breeze, nearly tun into the steamer, lyinu-to. Indeed, the water from her hows washed the steamer's deck. The Lieutenant of the Bulldog shouted to the Rodney to port her helm, and the shout being heard aud attended, the disaster ivas avoided.
