MODE OF DELIVERY, 6th — The requiied supplies will not be taken into the charge of the Commissariat, but must be delivered by the Conti actor duect to the pei sons entitled theieto, on the older of the Senior Commissaiiat Officer, or of any person to be deputed by him for that purpose.
GENERAL CONDITIONS. 7th. — Each Tender sent in, in consequence of this Adveitisement, must be accompanied by a statement signed by two competent Persons, and expressing their readiness, in the event oC such Tender being accepted, to become secu* nty for its due performance. The penalty of the Bond to be given will be equal to the estimated amount of three months' supplies. And it is to be understood that the sureties will be held strictly responsible for the fulfilment of the Contractor's engagements, any failuie in which will be immediately followed by the enforcement of the penalty of Bond. Bth. — The articles required for Hospitals must be comprised in one Tender,— and the same Regulation will apply to those required for Ships of War. The other articles may be tendered together or separately. 9ih. — The Contractor to prepare his own account according to the prescribed form j and on the production thereof at tins Oilice, with the requisite Vouchers in a complete state, shall receive payment Monthly, by a Bill upon the Lords Coinmissioueis of Her Majesty's Treasury, at Par, when the amount is Fifty Pounds or upwards: when under that Amount, Payment will be made in Cash. 10th.— -In the event of any Article offered being objected to as not agreeing with these Conditions, it will be submitted to a Board of Officeis, to be appointed by the Officer Commanding the Troops, and if rejected by the Board, it will be replaced by the Commissariat Officer and charged against the Contractor, in. the event of his neglecting to do so when requiied. 11th. — It shall be in the power of either party to limit the duration of the Contract by giving it wiiting a notice of three Calendar Months to the opposite party, and to end the Contract au the expiration of that period, it being understood that such notice can be given only from the first day of a month, and within the period for which the Contract is made or agreed to be made. 12th —Each Tender to be in Duplicate, sealed, and endorsed " Tender for Bread," " Tender for Rum," &c, as the case may be. 13th. — No Tender once sent in, is to be withdrawn or altered, and Notice of those accepted will be given within three days of the time of opening. And on sufficient evidence being afforded that the sureties are satisfactory, the Bond is to be completed without delay. If any persons who have tendered, refuse to fulfil their offers upon light or frivolous excuses, they will be considered ineligible as Contractors en any future occasion. The Contractors for the different Articles will be required to supply such quantities as may be directed by the Senior Commissaiiat Officer — without reference to any particular service, whether Military, Naval, or any other. Commissariat Office, Auckland, Jan. 13, 1848. npENDERS for furnishing Supplies to the X Commissariat Department, at 6uch place or places in the District of Russell as may be appointed, for the 12 calendar months commencing Ist April next, will be receired at this office until noon of thislst day of Match The supplies required are as follows*Bread at per lb. Fresh Beef, or Mutton, at per lb. OR The ration of Bread and Meat, consisting of lib. of each, may be tendered at per Ration Rum, West India, 5 per cent under proof, (duty to be paid by the Contractor) at per Imperial Gallon Firewood at per lOOlbs. Straw at pei ton of 2240 lbs. Mould and Dip Candles at per lb. FOR HOSPITALS. Fresh Beef or Mutton "J Fine Bread • Arrow Root, Sago, Rice (each of Tea, Sugar, Oatmeal f at Salt, Yellow Soap, Pearl Barley I Mixed Vegetables, Potatoes J < Milk and Vinegar, at per Pint Eggs, at per dozen Porter, Port Wine, & Brandy, at.per Bottle Fowls each The conditions under which the Supplies will be leceived, are the same as those laid down in the Commissariat Adveitisement inviting Tenders for the Auckland District, as it appears in this Newspaper, with the following addition :— The Fresh Meat to be issued Daily, in Fore and Hind Quarters alternately— when the quantity required admits of it.
