Commissariat Office, Auckland, Jan. 13, 1848. HPENDERS will he received at this Office, by -■- the Undersinged, until noon of Wednesday the Hist day of Match next, for I'm nishing the undermentioned supplies, in such quantities, and at such times and places within the limits of the town of Auckland, as may be d;iected by the Senior Commissaiiat Officer dining the twelve calendar months, commencing Ist Apiil next, under the conditions heiealter specitieil, viz, :— Bread, at per lb. Flour, at per lb. Biscuit, at per lb. Rum, West India, 5 per cent, under pi oof, (Duty to be paid by the Conliactor,) at per gallon Fnewood,at per 100 Us. Mould and Dip Candles, at per lb. Straw, at per ton of 2240 lbs. FOR HOSPITALS. Fresh Beef or Mutton, Fine Bread n Flour, Arrow Root, Sago, Rice, Tea / ftl Sugar, Oatmeal, Salt, Vellovv Soap J> Pearl Barley, Mixed Vegetables I l lh Potatoes J Potter, Poi t Wine, and Brand), each, at per bottle Milk, Vinegar, rach, at per pint Eggs, at per do^en Fowls, each

CONDITIONS, QUALITIES OF THE SUPPLIES— Ist. — All the articles to be of the best quality of their several kinds. 2nd. — The Flour to be the produce of clean sound Colonial Wheat, front which 20 per Cent, in Bran has been extiacted. 3rd. — The Bread to be made fiom Flour of the same quality as described in the preceding paragraph, and to be baked 24 hours before being issued, in loaves of 2 lbs. each. 4th. — The mixed "Vegetable to be supplied in reasonable proportions of Greens, Onions, &c. sth. — The Firewood to be Tea Tree or other Hard wood, split, and cut into 4 feet lengths. Parties tendering are requested to observe that strict adheience to these conditions will be invariably enforced.
mode of delivery. sth. — The required supplies will not be taken into the charge of the Commissariat, but must be deliveied by the Contractor direct , to the petsons entitled thereto, on the order of the Senior Commissatiat Officer, or of any person to be deputed by him for that purpose.
GENERAL CONDITIONS. 7th. — Each Tender sent in, in consequence of this Advertisement, must be accompanied by a statement signed by tw o competent Peison-, and expressing their readiness, in the event of such Tender being accepted, to become secunty for its due perfot maiice. The penalty of the Bond to be given will be equal to the estimated amount of three months' supplies. And it is to be understood that the sureties will be held strictly responsible for the fulfilment of the Conti actor's engagements, any failute in which will be immediately followed by the enforcement of the penalty of Bond. Slli. — "Ihe articles required for Hospitals must he comprised in one Tender, — ami the same liefiliation will apply to those requited for Ships of War. The other at tides may be tendered together or separately 9th. — The Conti actor to prepare his own account according to the prescribed form } and on the production thereof at tnis Oilice, with the requisite Vouchers in a complete stale, shall receive payment Monthly, by a Bill upon the Lords Commissioneis ol Her Majesty's Treasury, at Par, when Ibe amount is Fifty Founds or upwards: when under that Amount, payment will be made in Cash. 10th. — In the event of any Article offered being objected to as not agreeing with these Conditions, it will be submitted to a Board of Officers, to be appointed by the Officer Commanding the Tioop*, and if rejected by ihe Board, it will be replaced by the Commissariat Officer and chaiged against the Conti actor, in the event of his neglecting to do so when required. Hth. — It shall be in the power of either party to limit the duration of the Contract by giving it wilting a notice of three Calendar Months to the opposite party, and to end the Contract an the expiration of that period, it being understood that such notice can he given only from the first day of a month, and within Ihe period for which the Conti act is made or agreed to be made. 12th —Each Tender to be in Duplicate, sealed, and endorsed "Tender for Biead," " Tender for Rum," &c, as the case may be. 13th. — No Tender once sent in, is to be withdrawn or altered, and Notice of those accepted will be given within three days of the time of opening. And on suilicient evidence being afforded that the sureties are satisfactory, the Bond is to be completed without delay. If any persons who have tendered, refuse to fulfil their offet'B upon light or tnvolous excuses, they will be considered ineligible as Contractor en any future occasion.
