ANNUAL CONTRACTS. FOR AUCKLAND.

Commissariat Office, Auckland, Jan. 13, 1848. 1 LENDERS will be received at this Office, by • the Undersinged, until noon of Wednesday, the first day of March next, for furnishing the undermentioned supplies, in such quantities, and at such times and places within the limits of the town of Auckland, as may be directed by tbe Senior Commissariat Officer during the twelve calendar months, commencing Ist April next, under tbe conditions hereafter specified, viz. :— Bread, at per lb. Flour, at per lb. Biscuit, at per lb. Rum, West India, 5 per cent, under pi oof, (Duty to be paid by the Contractoi,) at per gallon Fnewood, at per 100 11 s. Mould and Dip Candles, at per lb; Straw, at per ton of 2240 lbs. FOR HOSPITALS. Z-~ 5 %Z% Oatmeal, at per bushel ."og^klg Peas, at per bushel £ » Vinegar, at per Imperial gal- &-°*l'sZ^& lon .Ss£-§i!'S CONDITIONS, QUALITIES OF THE SUPPLIES— Ist. — Ail the articles to be of the best quality of their several kinds. 2nd.— The Flour to be the produce of clean sound Colonial Wheat, from which 20 per Cent, in Bran has been extracted. 3rd. — Tbe Bread to be made from Flour of tbe same quality as described in tbe preceding paragraph, and to be baked 21 hours before being issued, in loaves of 2 lbs. each. 4tb.— The mixed Vegetable to be supplied in reasonable proportions of Greens, Onions, &c. sth. — The Firewood to be Tea Tree or other Hard wood, split, and cut into 4 feet lengths. Parties tendering are requested to observe that strict adherence to these conditions will be invariably enforced.

MODE OF DELIVERY, 6th. — The required supplies will not be taken into the charge of the Commissariat, but must be delivered by the Contractor direct to the peisons entitled thereto, on the order of the Senior Commissariat Officer, or of any person to be deputed by him for that purpose.

GENERAL CONDITIONS. 7tb. — Each Tender sent in, in conseq uence of this Advetlisement, must be accompanied by a statement signed by iwo competent Pel sons, and expressing their readiness, in the event of such Tender being accepted, to become security for its due performance. The penalty of the Bond to be given will be equal to the estimated amount of three months' supplies. And it is to be understood that the sureties will be held strictly responsible for the fulfilment of the Contractor's engagements, any failure in which will be immediately followed by the enforcement of the penalty of Bond. Bth. — The articles required for Hospitals must be comprised in one Tender, — and the same Regulation will apply to those required for Ships of War. The ether articles may be tendered together or separately. 9th. — The Contractor to prepare bis own account according to the prescribed form; and on the production thereof at this Office, with the requisite Vouchers in a complete state, shall receive payment Monthly, by a Bill upon the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, at Par, when the amount is Fifty Pounds or upwards: when cinder that Amount, Payment will be made in Cash. 10th. — In the event of any Article offered being objected to as not agreeing with these Conditions, it will be submitted to a Board of Officers, to be appointed by the Officer Commanding the Troops, and if rejected by the Board, it will be replaced by the Commissariat Officer and chaiged against the Contractor, in the event of his neglecting to do so when required. 1 ilh. — It shall be in the power of either party to limit the duration of the Contract by giving it writing a notice of three Calendar Months to the opposite party, and to end the Contract an the expiration of that period, it being understood that such notice can be given only from the first day of a month, and vvithin the period for which the Contract is made or agreed to be made. 12ih — Each Tender to be in Duplicate, sealed, and endorsed " Tender for Bread," " Tender for Rum," Sic, as the case may be. 13th. — No Tender once sent in, is to be withdrawn or altered, and Notice of those accepted will be given within three days of the time of opening. And on sufficient evidence being afforded that the sureties are satisfactory, the Bond is to be completed without delay. If any persons who have tendered, refuse to fulfil their offers upon light or frivolous excuses, they vt ill be considered ineligible as Contractors on any future occasion.
