[A CARD] MRS. WOOLLY receives Pupils for instruction in the following branches of Education, viz— j ENGLISH FRENCH MUSIC DRAWING. For Terms see Circulars, Auckland, Queen Street, Oct. 15, 1847.

MR. MERRETT, Portrait and Landscape Painter to His Excellency the Governor, begs to intimate to those parties with whom he has engaged to execute Portraits, that he is willing to complete them ; having now a studio in Auckland, with a good light; but he has a decided objection to attend sitters at their own houses, simply on account of the variety of light, caused by verandahs and windows fronting the course of the sun, &c. His rooms are in Chancery Street, in Mr. Coolahan's new house, at the back of the Exchange Hotel. Attendance from nine to five. Groups of natives, single portraits of natives, landscapes of the most interesting parts of the interior, carvings, canoes, &c, will be executed in such a manner, as to lose nothing of the characteristics of the people and country he pourtrays.

NOTICE.

nPHE Undersigned begs to inform the ■*• Ladies and Gentlemen, and the inhabitants of Auckland generally, that he intends to open an Office for the registry of Servants. He is induced to do this from the numerous applications made to him, both by Servants requiring situations, as well as Masters and Mistresses requiring servants. As their will be, in all probability, numerous persons, of both parlies, requiring accommodation of this sort, he solicits respectfully the kind patronage of the Public, and trusts the eligible situation of his premises, as well as the manner of conducting the business, to render it a source of benefit to all parties concerned.
