Be just and fear not: Let all the ends than aims't at, be thy Country's, Thy God's, and Truth's. The eighth Session of the New Zealand Legislative Council closed on Saturday last. Thomas Walker Nene's Annuity Bill, and ihe Paper Currency Bill, were read a third time and passed ; the latter, after a division upon the amendment of Mr. Borwn, that the Bill should be read a third time on that day six months. The Governor then thanked honorable members for their attention to the business brought before them, and for their assistance in passing such measures as he had found it necessary to introduce to their notice ; and after having stated that he could not yet dissolve the Council, lest by the arrival of some instiuctions from home, he should be compelled to call them together again before the introduction of the new constitution, lie adjourned the Council sine die.
His Excellency visited the Tamaki District on Monday, and after having carefully examined the locality, fixed upon a site, on the East bank, for the location of two companies of the New Zealand Fencibles. We have pleasure in assuring them that they now enjoy two of the best positions that could have been chosen for them, within any reasonable distance of the Capital.
