The barque Protector, 400 tons, Captain Hunter; sailed from Port Nicholson on the 10th August for Nelson, where she was to remain a few days, and then come on to this port. The barque Dyson, sailed on the 5th August, for Calleo, from Port Nicholson, to load at the former place for Liverpool. The barque Waterwitch, Douglas, and brigantine Wanderer, Crooton, sailed from Wellington on the 1st August, for Batavia. Captain Watson of the Fisherman, reported having passed a vessel apparently of about 30 tons, keel uppermost, between Nelson and Port Nicholson, supposed to be the wreck of the Phoenix, Iost some time back. The Julia, brig, arrived at Wellington on 29th July and sailed for Nelson on 11th August. The schooner, Thomas Lord, Farley, arrived on the 6th August at Wellington, from Hobart Town. H.M.S. Calliope returned to Port Nicholson from Wanganui, on the 6th August, with Lieut.-Colonel M'Cleverty, and several officers on board. The square rigged vessels at Wellington when H.M.S. Inflexible left, were the Pestonjec Bomanjee. Thomas Lowry, brig Victoria, also several schooners and cutters.
