TitlePreamble. I MARRIAGE OF CHURCHMEN, QUAKERS, AND JJiWS. 1. Marriages according to form of Church of England to be valid. % Licenses may be issued as heretoiore. 8, Marriages according to forms used by Quakers and Jews to be valid.
11. NOTICE OF INTENDED MARRIAGE. 4 Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths, to be Deputy Registrar of Marriages. < 5 Notice of every intended Marriage, except by Banns or License, to bo given to Deputy Registrar. 6 And to bo filed and copied by him. 7. Copy of notice in some cases to be posted up in JftOllicc of Deputy Regis tiar, "''Fees to Deputy Registrar for copy. 9. Notice book to be open for inspection. 10. Deputy Registrar to issue certificate. 11. Fees for certificate. 12. Deputy Registrar in certain cases may grant licenses. . 13 Oath to be made by party before license granted. 14. Hotice and Licence to be good for tluee months only. 15. Fee for License. 10. Deputy Registrar to make Quarterly returns of Licenses granted by him.
111. CONSENTS TO MARRIAGES, CAVEATS, &c. 17. Consent necessary when party under age. 18. Iv certain cases consent of Judge of bupremc Court may be given. 19. Issue of certificates may be forbidden. 20. Caveats may be entered, 21. If caveat vexatious.
IV. SOLEMNIZATION OF MARRIAGES. 22. Marriage, not to take place before 21 days after Notice. . 23. Deputy Registry's certificate to be delivered to officiating minister. t 2\ Marriages when and where to be solemnized. 25. Marriages may be solemnized at the oflice of Deputy Registrar. m 26. Y. PENALTIES. 29. Marriages solemnized otherwise than herein pro • vided to be void. , 30. Other Maniages Otherwise than herein provided to be void. ~ 21. On Marriage of Minors without consent, oflbnding party to iorieit property acquired by such mar* riage. 32. Proceedings to be upon Oath. 33. All settlements, &c., on any such Marriage to be void. 34. Proceedings to be taken within one year alter such Marriage. 35. If Marriage be under false notice or certificate,— the like iorleiture. 36. The making of a false declaration,— a misdemeanor. 37. Solemnizing Matrimony by a clergyman, otherwise than in a church, &c , a felony. 38. Solemnizing Matrimony otherwise than accoiding to this Ordinance, a felony. 39. Issuing certificate by Deputy Registrar bcfor« 21 days, a felony. 40. Persons solemnizing Marriage of Minors, without consent, a misdemeanor. 41. Prosecutions to be commenced within three years aiter offence.
VI. OFFICIATING MINISTERS. 42. Officiating Ministers, who. 43. All Ministers of Religion having a congregation of 40 householders. 44. Other Ministers in certain cases to be deemed Oiliciating Ministers. 45. Ministeis when no longer to be deemed officiating ministers.
VII. MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS. 46 Marriages heretofore celebrated lo be deemed valid. 47! Half-cast children in certain cases to be deemed legitimate. , «•»,.. 48.
