DEATH.

Tt is our painful task to record the death of His Excellency Sir John Eardley Eardley-Wrmot, late Lieutenant-Governor of this Island, which took place at 11 o'clock, on Wednesday night The deceased Baronet had for some lime resided at the Private Secretary'^ cottage, in Maeqimrie-street, and been suffering under severe indisposition, which, on Monday, exhibited a fatal type, ami from llut period all hope oi his recovery was rel.nqu'uhed, He was sensible to the last, and expressed a wish that his body might be conveyed home to rest with his family. The immediate cause of his death was exhaustion, and a thorough break down of the vital principle.
