Our Correspondent "J. McV." is certainly right. No Slaughter Houses should bo allowed in the midst of our dwellings ; and we are only astonished that some malignant epidemic has not overtaken us during the late intensely hot weather. The general good health of the Auckland community can only be attributed to the salubrity of the climate. The Government should endeavour to get the slaughter houses collected into one quarter, as far as possible removed I'iom human habitations.
