1 have invariably written according to the dictates of my conscience, I am careless of the aspersion of those who think others as devoid of principle and integrity as themselves. I wish it to be distinctly understood, that I alone am the author of the articles that have appeared in the Editorial columns of the NewZealander since 4th July last, so that whatever diversity of opinion may exist respecting the character of these writings, I alone must be considered accountable foy the faults they contain. i I now bid my readers farewell, trusting that the pen which I relinquish will he resumed by abler hands, and directed by a mind of far greater calibre than m me, and that their sentiments will be more correctly expressed, and their interests more powerfully advocated i than they have been by me. T. S. Forsaith.
