WELLINGTON.
H. M. Steamer Driver arrived.last Thursday morning, bringing us files of Wellington papers to the 17th instant, but they contain nothing of special interest. Rangihaeata is still at large, prowling about the neighbourhood of Manawatu. His cause, however, appears to be on the decline. The remaining piisoners have been tried, and sentenced to transportation for life. Seven of them are now on board the Driver on their way to Hobart Town. The Hutt District had been visited by a very heavy flood, occasioned by the melting of the snows on the Taurarua range : the water of the river rose to an unprecedented height, and did considerable damage.
