Arrived at Sydney from Hobart Town, the barque Ramilies, on the 15th Dec, with Captain Henderson, Lieut. Telverton, and 29 men of tlte Royal Artillery, &c The Post Office packet, barque, Dublin, 429 tons, Wakefield, master, from the Downs, 4th August, and the barque Tropic. 382 Jons, Robertson, master, from the Downs, 23rd August,— arrived in Sydney, 15th December. The barque Everetta, 356 tons, Darby, master, from the Downs, 23rd August, arrived at Sydney, 21st December.

The Tasmania, from Dublin, on the 2nd September, arrived at Launceston, 3rd December.

The True Briton, 700 tons, Consett. master, arrived at the Cape of Good Hope, 23rd October, from Portsmouth, 28th August, on her way to Madias Alto, the Tudor, 1064 tons, M. I. Lay* master, from Portsmouth to Calcutta, anived 25th Oct., biingnig English news to 31st August.

Distinction of Pirates.— -By a letter from 11.M.5. Jgincourt, dated Manilla, 3rd Sep., ire learn that the squadron consisting of the Agincourt, Vestal, Daedalus, Crvizer, Wolverine, Vixen, Pluto, and Nvmesis, had attacked at Malloodoo Bay, the pirate chief, SerifFHousman. The boats of the squadron succeeded in taking his forts, being three in number, and mounting altogether fifteen guns, they destroyed the town, and all the goods they came across. The boats were under ih« fire of the batteries, while forcing the boom, upwards of fifty minutes, at little u ore than 200 )ards distance. Our loss was six killed, and fifteen wounded, two of the latter since dead. Mr. Pym, of the Vestal, was wounded in the back part of the thigh by a grape shot, but not dangerously. Mr. Gibbard, a mate of the Wolverine, was' killed. The loss ou the Agincourt alone was four killed, and six wounded. The loss of the enemy could not be asceitained, as they carried the bodies away immediately into the jungle, but it must have been cotuiderable. Two Aiab chiefs aie known to have been killed, and SseriffHousman himself to have been carried oft'lhe field dainidously wounded in the neck. The squadron were to sail lor Hongkong, on the 41 h September, from Manilla.— Port Philip Herald, Dec. 11.

The "Great Britain," Steamer, arrived at New York on the 10th of August, steaming all the wa> against foul winds and cross seas, she accomplished the distance, 3,304 miles, in 14| da> s, or 351 hours, at therate of 9$ knots' or lOf •tatute miles an hour.
