The Thomas Lord, schooner, Captain Johnson, is to run as a regular trader between Auckland and Sydney. The Matilda, whaler, from this port, touched at Valparaiso, on her way io London. Bv the Three Brother*, we learn that the whaling season still continues to progress considerably, and promises to be one of the best that has occuned for many years. At Tom's station, in Queen Charlottes Sound, they have caught three whiles, and lost three humpbacks. At Doroughty's, in cloudy Bay, one whale; at Kapiti, one whale; ai Porirua, one \\ hale. Mr. Toms informs us, that on Tuesday last, Frasers party were " fast " to a large whale, when unfortunately the boat was struck by the fish in "sounding," aii'l smashed to pieces ; the crew remained in the water neaily half an hour, when they were rescued by one of the boats, belonging to Toms' station at Porirua.— N. Z. Spectator.
