J. 1 ' we would observe lhat we coincide in his observation that " intelligence is rapidly ami sometimes oddly communicated in Auckland," — and we would add, that generally speaking-, without any foundation in truth. Scandal is the "monomania of Auckland, and to such a height has it arrived, that invention, fabrication, and falsehood, have become to bo considered as] harmless wit. We shall not sutler our columns to be the medium of remarks founded on mere report. I'lte fool'sh, unmeaning letter with the signature of "Common Sympathy,'' we merely notice, in order to state, that there has heen, tins we<*k, a distrihut on of provisions among the deserving refugees fiom the Bay of Islands.
