LONDON, March 29. The North Southwark by-election, caused by the resignation of Mr Haydon Guest (Labour) who recontested the seat as an Indepen■dent Constitutionalist resulted: Strause (Liberal) t. 7334 Isaacs (Labour . . . . 6167 Guest (Independent) 3215 The result of the Southwark byelection is hailed as further evidence of the turn of the tide in j favour of Liberalism. Personal con- j sideration loomed largely in the | contest, as Mr Strause has big busi- ! ness inferests in Southwark.
