2FC ESTABL1SHES ANOTHER REC0RD. S The gala performance to the j Duke and Duchess of York at Her Majesty's Theatre, Sydney, on Tuesday, March 29, will create a world's I record in broadcasting. Following ! considerahle negotiations by 2FC, i through Messrs J. C. "Williamson, | Ltd., with the English authorities | holding the Gilbert and Sullivan J copyrights, arrangements have been made for the complete gala performance to be broacast. The two operas "Trial by Jury" and "H.M.S. Pinafore" will be transmitted in their entirety for the first time in any part of the world. The broadcast wiri commence at 7.45 (9.1 p.m. New Zealand -time), with a description of the audience. Then will follow a fanfare for trumpets specially written by Mr Andrew MacCunn, musical director of J. C. .Williamson's, Ltd., to be played upoij. the "Aida" trumpets as their Royal Highnesses arrive. At 8 o'clock (9.10 New Zealand) the National Anthem will he played by the enlarged orchestra.. At 8V3 (9.33) "H.M.S. Pinafore" will he broadcast in full, folloAved after the interval by a full transmission of "Trial by Jury."
