INVERCARGILL, March 28. The whaler C. A. Larsen arrived at Stewart Island on Sunda'y with 47,500 barrels of oil from the Ross j Sea, valued approximately at a quarter of a million. She reports heavy weather on the return trip. Shc visited Balleny Island, and found whales numerous there. securing a hundred in ten days. This new field in warmer regions opens , up the possibility of a longer whai- j ing season. Balleny has not been ; visited since 1830. The vcssel will' proceed to Wellington in a few days to replenish her oil fuet ]
