BOWLING.
AWAMOA CLUB'S TOURNEY. A tourney arranged by the Awamoa Clixb was held on the Phoenix rinks on Saturday afternoon on_ a splendid green in perfect weather. Four games of an hour each were played, and eighty-eight players participated, players of the various clubs being weil mixed before starting. The winners proved to be a x*ink skipped by Campbell (Meadowbank) with 48 points, and the run-ners-up were teams skipped by Mitchell 45, and Blacklock 42. Each of these teams had four wins, but Campbell ran up the greatest aggregate number of points. The placed teams were as follows. — Crichton, C. Browxi, Adams, Campbell (skip); Stringer, Sutherland, J. Gibson, Mitchell (skip); Crisp, McPherson, Weaver, Blacklock (skip). At the conclusion of the tournament Mr W'oodward, of the Awamoa Club, j px*esented the prizes to the winnex-s, ! and lieartily thanked the Phoenix I Club for the sportsmanship in plac- ■' ing their greens at the disposal of | the teams. He said the tournament would net almost £9 to the Awamoa Club. It was afterwards announced that Mitchell's team had handed its prize-money to Mr Woodward as a doi-ation to the Awamoa Club.
