THE MAITLAND STRIKE.

SYDNEY, Last Night. The Maitland coalfields trouble remains unsettled. A meeting of miners delegates at Newcastle on Saturday urged the Government to bring pressure to bear to ensure a resumption of the conference. The Minister of Mines meets representatives on Monday after which it is understood the Government will ; make a determined effort to secure restarting. Besides ten thousand miners many others are idle., and ; trade and shipping are largely at a standstill.
