GHRISTCHURC14. March 25. The Canterbury A. and P. Asso ciation's ram and ewe fair was continued to-day, when there was again a large attendance ofLuyers. Corriedale, English Leieester and Southdown ewes were offered, but only Southdowns were iri demand and sold under keen competition at 3fgns to 5gns. One line of Corriedales made 2igns. Only three breeds were in demand when Ihe stud rams were offered, Corriedales, English Leieester s and Southdowns. Two Lincoln" rams, sold on benalf of Mr W. Raynor (Masterton), made 19gns and 424gns.. For the next class of Corriedale rams there was very fair competition and in the case of a) few special rams ,bidding was keen, while inferior and backward conditioned sorts were neglected. Mr Isaac Andrew topped the Corriedale saies at 120gns, the buyer of the ram being Mr E. Ridgen (Greendale). Mr H. Ensor (Rakahuri) obtained lOOgns for a ram purchased by Mr W. Raynor (Masterton), and 58gns for one sold to Mr Alma Baker (Auckland). Mr W. Raynor sold one for 524 gns and Mr O. T, Evans' next price was 50gns. There was a very satisfactory demand for English Leicesters and sheep of the type mostjequired met with satisfactory saies. Messrs R. and J. Reid secured the highest figures, 105gns, the buyer being Mr C. F. Murray (Wharenui)^ and Mr VT. J. Perkins 33gns, Lincoln Oollege 30gns, and Mr Letham 274gns, v/ere the breeders who obtained the next highest figures. ' C'ol. John Findlay sold Border Leicesters at up to 22gns and 27gns, ancl these were the highest figures for the few that were disposed of. As in the case of flock rams, Southdown stud rams were in keen demand and brougllt excellent prices. Mr H. .T. Andrew Maheno) secured top price. 874gns (buyer Norman Rutherford), and other good figures from 40gns to 61gns. Lincoln College's saies were at 30gns 55gns, A. W. Adams 30gns to 374gns, L. j D. Adams 42gns, and W. J. Jenkins to 31gns. [ Shropshires and Romney Marsh" i were almost unsaleable, thougk isome fine rams of the former breed ! were offered.
