It was agreed that each local body should collect ats own fees and distribute these m accordance with the mileage shown to have been travelled in each district. a few days later, a new set of rewula— tions w asreceived from Wellington which set out in Clause 8: "For the puipose of diistributing the liceiis© fees there shall be within each heavy-traffie district oue distributing authoritv which shall be such one of the licensing authorities within the heavytraffic district as may be mutually agreed upon by such local authorities as aforesaid, or, in default of agreement, as may be nominated by a magistrate on the application of anv of those local authorities. " This will mean another gathering of local bodies to re-open the question as to who shall be the "central authorjty."
