NE WPLYMOUTH. Last Night. The dispersal of John Hales' Hc% ly Oak Jersey herd was completed to-day. O'n the two days a total of 152 head was sold realising 8,535 guineas. The top price to-day. was paid hy A. E. Watkins (Takinini) who secured Lady Supeifior for 300 gns. This cow holds the' Dominion record of 1667.63 Ibs of fat in two years. The same buyer paid 237i gns for a cow, Holly,Oak Beauty, but in response to his five year old son's tearful pleading the vendor repurchased her for 250gns. Mr W. Kerrick (Tuakau) paid 160gns for the cow, Grannie's Pride, and several others realised over three figures. The junior herd sire,Howkesbury's Golden Peer was pnrchased by Mr W. Kerrick for 205gns. All the young bulls were in keen demand, several going over three figures.
