NORTH OTAGO GOLF CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the North Otago Golf Club was largely attended in the M'Lean Hall last evening. The president (Mr John Fraser) was in the chair. The secretary read the annual report and halance sheet, which showed that the Club was in a very sound position iinanciallj' and had had a most successful season. The report and halance sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows : — President, Mr E. F. Armstrong; captain, Mr R. K. Ireland; vice-captain, Mr T. Doyle; secretary and treasurer, Mr F. W. Ilumphries ; committee, Messrs A. J. Grave, K. Familton, J. Fraser, J. Wilson, R. Irvine, M. S. Holmes and G. Cuthbertson. Mr Fraser, on yacating the chair, thanked last year's committee and the secretary for the courtesy and great assistance they had given him. It had heen an important season for the Club as they had to face the question of looking for more suitable links, but thanks to the Art Union they were that day well established in links that compared favotirably with some cf the best grounds in .the .Dominion, He was fur.ther pleased to be able to report that they were opening the coming- season with over 40 new members and everything pointed to the Club having a most successful future. Beveral members of the committee spoke of the Splendict work that had been done by the secretary during the trying times of last season and on tlie motion of Mr A. J. Grave. it was unanimously decided to vote him a special honorarium of £50. Mr Humphries stated the work he had done was simply a pleasure and he firmly declined to accept the bonus, but the members present were equally determined and counted his objection out. ! After a long discussion the sub- ' scription was fixed at £5 5s and £2 j 12s 6d for first year members. | A number of recommendations to | the incoming committee were j brought forward by various memj bers and an enthustastic meeting | closed with the usual ATote of thanks ; to the chair.
