PICTON, Last Night. The New Zealand championship regatta was held liere to-day on changeable water. There was a large attendance. The weather was dull but fine. Great inlerest was taken in the appearance of Wendoree, the Victorian crew. . Champion Fours (best and best), 2 miles. — ^Otago (F. Brough str., J. Werges, C. J. McAra, P. S. Anderson) 1, Waitemata 2, Union 3. Eight crews competed. Wendoree (Victoria) was fourth. Wron by a canvas, with the s&cond crew a good length ahead of Union. Time, llmin 40sec Maiden Fours (clinker), one mile. — Star (Wellington), D. Brooker str., F. Mullins, F. Creese, L. Shotlander, 1; Blenheim 2, Picton 3. Union (Wanganui) also competed. Won by half a length, Picton three lengths further back. Time 6min 2 4-5sec. Junior Pairs (clinker) one mile. — Wairau (C. Sutherland str., C. Patchett) 1; Star 2; Picton 3. Two Blenheim crews also rowed. Won by t\Vo feet and four lengths. Time, 6min 46sec. Champion Single Sculls (best and best), 14 miles. — -Waitemata (W. A. Stevenson) 1, Hamilton No. 1 (I. W St. Clair) 2, Picton (C. Tarrant) 3. Four competed. Lightweight Maiden Fours (clinker), one mile. — Picton (L. Peek str, C. Olsson, C. Peek, R. Lane) 1, Blenheim 2, Wairau 3. Won by two lengths and three lengths. Time: 6min 12sec. Champion Pairs (best and 'best), 14 miles. — Wairau (W. E. Gi'bbons ■str, C. Sauriders) 1, Hamilton No. 1, 2; Canterbury 3.
