DUKES ADMIRES SCENERY. BETWEEN THE BUMPS.

PEMBROKE, Saturday. After an interesting journey through Centrai Otago and up the Valley of the Clutha the Duke arrived at Pembroke on the shores of Lake Wanaka, shortly after 6 p.m. The journey from Cromwell to Wanaka hy motor inust have been made in record time. The scenery of the Clutha river gorge with the river running in great rapids and fearsome whirlpools interested the visitors, and the Duke, from his well-planned observation car, was enabledi to have a splendid view of it all. To-morrow being Sunday, the Duke will have rest and if the day is fine, which seems doubtful, he may go on a trip up the beautiful lake. The day has been among the most interesting of the tour: . ^Tonighf the one hotel houses the whole party.
