« MELBOURNE, Last Night. Commenting on the beam tests, Mr Fisk said that speeds up 6o three hundred words per minute in each direction simultaneously had been attained. The periods of communication or the word capacity j had both exceeded the guarantee. In ! the arrangement between the Com- | monwealth Government and the ] Amalgamated Wireless a traffic ea- : pacity of four thousand words daily each way was guaranteed, while present beam testshad demonstrated a traffic capacity of 130 to 170 thousand words each way. The daily speed guaranteed under the original super power agreement was twenty words per minute each way, while the beam was capable of doing in excess of three hundred both ways simultaneously.
