MANCHESTER UNITY.
Loyal Band of Friendship Lodge, Kakanui, met for the quarterly meetirig with a small attendance owing to so many members being .engaged in harvesting. P. G. Bro..S. Burns, tendered his resignation as the minutes of the Lodge. signation was^receivedDwith regrei and it was deeided that his assistance and interest be placed on record in the minutes of the Lodge. It is interesting to note that Bro. Burns has been a member of the Lodge for 54 years. P. G. Bro. K. Thorby was elected to fill the" vaeancy. A church parade was held on Sunday, 6th March in Kakanui Presbyterian Church, a very creditable numher of members being present. The kind offer of a trophy for ' eompetition by officers of the Lodge for the ensuing 12 months was put to the vote and accepted. Bro. J. Smith, E. S. Smith, E. S. and Bro'. A. Maffey, warden, resigned their positions; BrgS V. McDonald and S. Bouthaway being eleoted in their stead.
