FROM ^DUNEDIN IRISH. ON ST. PATRICK'S DAY. DUNEDIN, Last Night. The Duke to-day received the following address from the Dunedin citizens of Irish birth:— "The day on which Dunedin is honoured by the presence of your Royal Highness happens to be St. Patrick's Day. Here in Dunedin, as elsewhere in the Dominion of his Majesty, the men and women of Irish birth and\descent are deeply sensible of the freedom and happiness they enjoy as subjeicts of his

Majesty. We assure your Royal Highnesses of our earnest attachment to the institutions under which we have the privilege to live and1 of our conlxdent hope that the visit of your Royal Highness will preserve and strengthen thoss ties that bind together the widely scattered comonwTealth of nations of which His Majesty is head. We rejoice that a new era has dawnetl for Ireland since her admission to that Commonwealth on a footing equal to our own. The members of the Royal Family belong equally to all the races that are united under his Majesty. Th«e titles of your Royal Highnesses remind us of this; and among those titles is Ihe namc of that beautiful spot, Killarney Encouraged by this fact and hy a realisation of its meaning, wc venture respectfuly to offer to your Royal Highness, as a memento of the St. Patrick's Day spent amongst us this harp of Erin. (Signed) John Maloney, J- Callan, Eugene O'Neill T. J. Hussey, J. A. Brown, C. A. Shiel, A. G. Neill and Win. Casey."
