OPERA HOUSE.
' "THE MARHIAGE GLAUSE." To what extent is a woman dependent upon man? Is it possible for a man to exert suph an influence over a woman as to make her very career hinge upon his mere presence or absence? Admitting ( that initial aid is sometimes a factor in the later success of a woman, is it necessary for her helper to be ever-present, Sven-gali-like? That is the rnotive of "The Marriage Clause," the Univer-sal-Jewel, coming to the Opera House to-night. It was adapted from "Technic," the famous story written by Dana Bprnett. It is a tale of the theatre, with its con-stantly-changing life backstage, flowing sometimes smoothly, like the sands in an hour-glass, more often turbulent, like the waters in a rocky brookbed, The leading roles are portrayed by Billie Dove and Francis X. Bushman and they ;are supportCd by a. brilliant list of ensemble players.
