SOUTH SCHOOL JUBILEE.
ARRANGEMENTS WEl,LFORWARD. The keen interest being exhibited in the forthcoming South School Jubilee was exemplified by the fact that about forty attended last night's meeting under the presidency of Mr Barsdell. The convener of the Social Com- • mittee reported that the arrangements for a musical function wer® still in hand and that a sports programme was receiving consideration. It was agreed that a birthday cake be provided for the banquet. The Publication Committee reported that there was' a considerable quantity of matter in hand and that a number of interesting photographs had heen handed in. The committee was authorised to proceed with the preparatiqn of a souyenir hooklet. The "secretary was instructed to write a further letter to Mr Wright. Minister of Education, with a view to ensuring his presence at the celebration if possible, # many former pupils having exprcssed the desire that he should attend. It was reported that replies to invitations Avere coming in from ex-pupils and many intended to he present, and it was decided to aslc the RailWay authcrities to make special ticket concessions. A suggestion that a billeting committee be set up was held over for further consideration, the opinion being expressed thal probably ex-pupils would. desire to accommcdate old school pals and this coulcf be arranged through the committee. The chairman reported that arrangements were in hand' to procure badges and the recommendation of tiie sub-committee was ap- . proved.
