OAMARU v. SCHOOL.
Oamaru had lost three for 83 when play was resumed on Saturday. Sumpter did not last long, adding only three singles when MacKenzie bowled him. Uttley and Smith then began a partnership which took the score to 129 before the former was brilliantly caught by Carrington at cover-point after a sound batting performance. Crimp failed to score and Kinder assisted Smith to add another 28 before losing his wicket. - Corson and Smith made a useful stand for the ninth wicket ,the„ innings terminating for 215 which was 47 behind School's first innings sicore. Smith carried his bat for a well-played 52, a score that must have been increased had anyone been able to stay with him. MacKenzie bore the brunt of the attack and obtained the best bowling average; School again did well in their second innings which closed for 261, Francis top-scoring with 70. Following are the scores
