- WELLINGTON, Last Night. Billy Grime . (9st 0flb), triple Australian champion beat Purdy (9st 8Jlb) on points in 15-round professional hoxing contest. The judges disagreed and the referee gave a casting vote. Grime had to fight all he knew. Purdy employed an impenetrable smother to Grime's deadly right. Grime, hoWever, was on top of his man for the greater part of the lifteen rounds, plantihg his hlows quickly and more snappily and on a firmer target. Many considered Purdy had won. The verdict rnet with a mixed reception.
