WELLINGTON, Last Night. The figures of the Dairy Division : of the Department of Agriculture ! shovv that the salted butter graded for February, ■ 1927, amounted to 7802 tons and the unsalted 280 tons — a total of 8082 tons, compared with 7070 tons salted and 240 tons unsalted, a total of 7310 tons for j February, 1926 — an increase of 106 per cent. For the seven months j ended February, 1927, the respec- I tive quantities were 52,049 tons and 1706 tohs-r-a total of 53,755 tons, compared with 46,143 tons and 2563 tons — a total of 48,706 tons for the corresponding period of the preceding season— an increase of 10.4 per cent. The cheese graded for February, 1927, eomprised: White 6418 tons, coloured 3182 tons — a total of 9600 tons compared with 5191 tons white and 3538 tons coloured— a fotal of 8829 tons for February, 1926, an increase of 8,7 p.er cent. The quantities for the seven months ended February, 1927, were: White 36,217 tons, coloured 18,195 tons— a total of 54,412 tons, com-« pared with 33,792 tons white and 18,915 tons GoJoufed— a total of 52,707 tons for the corresponding 'period of the preeeding season— an increase of 3.2 per cent. Gonverting v these figures into their butterfat "equivalent there is an increase of 8.0 per cent in butterfat production for the seven months as compared with the corresponding period of the 1925-26 season. Stocks held in j various grading ports as at 28th February, 1927, were: Butter 13,811 tons, cheese 13,224 tons, as compared with 9166 tons butter .and 13,016 tons cheese held on the 28th February, 1926.
