CALEDONIAN SOCIETY
MEETING OF DIRECTORS,
The directors of the North Otago Caledonian Society met last evening, Mr J. Gerrie presiding over agood attendance. The secretary said he had communicated with Miss Thwaites regarding the dance recital and she had replied that it would be better to havc two nights' entertainment. Members were of 'the opinion that one night was sufficient and it was decided to leave the matter in the hands of the secretary. Adyice was received from Christchurch ofFering the use of the whippets for the sports' meeting on March 19, and submitting terms which, tpgether with expenses, total about £39. Tfie meetmg agreeo' to the terms and- the following programme was appro-ved:' — 100 vards handicap (open); 880 yards handicap (open); 220 yards, youth under 18; 75 yards North Otago ladies' championship; 100 2/ards ladies1 h-aqdicap; • one mile cycling handicap and1 six whippet races (including heats). Entries for all events close with the secretary on March 15 at 5 p.m. The arrangements were formalised and officials appointed.
