Such expert instruction is absolutely necessary if the Junior High School is going to provide a properly balanced cxploration _ ot the pupil's intcrests and capacities. 1 wish to institute an industrial or manual coursc, comprising English, arithmetic, drawing, science, woodI work and mctal work, which can be continued in the senior school on intensified lines. . A, I. Rcnnic has been awarded a Uhiversity entrance scholarship. I " The secretary of the Royal Colf onial Institute has advised that A. i C. Jessep took second prize (equal) I in the senior essay competition. There were 73 competitors. In | this senior (class A) competition E. B. Out of 64 candidates in the proficiency examination, 52 gained J proficiency certificates, two gained i cndorsed competency and six competency.
