STANDS DOWN FOR A YEAR.

AUCKLAND, Last Night. George Frederick Cross (32) will not be permitted to drive a motor vehicle for the next twelve months. Mr McKean, S.M., decided in that way at the Police Court this morning when Cross pleaded guilty to being in a state of intoxication while in charge' of a motor car yesterday. The Magistrate said that there was little to he said in mitigation of the offefice. Cross would also be fined £20 in default six weeks5 imprisonment. u — i
