QUESTIONS IN COMMONS.
NO ARMED FORCES ADMITTED INTO SHANGHAI. ' I — ' Jx LONDON. March 7. In the House of Comnions Mr Trevelan inquired if Britain intended to refuse to allow the Cantonese troops to entex* Shanghai if they guaranteed the safety of foreigners. Sir Lockcr Lampson replied: "I cannot attempt to answer hypothetical questions of this kind. Sir Oswald Mosley asked: "Have not other participants heen allowed to enter?" Si.r Locker Lampson replied: "No armed forces have been allow- ' ed to enter Shanghai. The whole point of the British forces being in Shanghai is to prevent the entry of armed Chinese forces. No bodies of Chinese troops had entered the eonccssion or within the British lines except deserters and stragglers who have been disarmed."
