DUNEDIN, Last Night, Word has been received by Ihe loeal police tbat Alexander Leonard Yorston (63) -a widowed farmer living at Waihola, xvas found dead in his house at 7,30 a.m. to-day. AUCKLAND, Laist Night. The body of a man was fonnd In tbe barbour with a bullet wound in the right temple and the hair singf.he harbour. The body hadi been in the water about four days, The deceased was about 55 years of age„ but the body has not yet 'been identified. , HAWERA, Last Night. A sensational accident occurred nn. the Tongahoe Valley road near Hawera l2te on Monday afternoon, a car falling over a bank niftety feet deep into the Tongahoe river. The ciccupants. John Wicks and his { son. Alfred, being badly injured, The mishap was due to the steering gear locking at a turn of the road. Wicks senior was thrown clear half way down but his son fell the whole distance and narrowly escaped drowning. John was removed to the , hospital sugering from shoCk and Ihe crushing of several ribs and an extensive bruising and Alfred has sustained injuries to. the baek. The car was completely wrecked. ' NAPIER, Last Night. As a locomotive was eutering the sheds at 11 o'cloc]c to-night it ran over a man sitting with his legs over the pit and killed him almost instantly. Papers in the man's pocket bear the name H. O'Neill, one giving his address at Kaiwaka. Deceased was aged between 45 and 50.
