CAPETOWN, March 5, The Grasfontein diamond rush was the higgest ever known. Twenty-live thousand runners_lined up l'or the start in the presence of a similar numbcr of spectators. The first to reach the area was the South African champion runner, Len Richardson, who was ofTered £1000 for liis claim but refused £20,000. The licenscs issued constitutc a record.
