HORSE MARKET REPORT.

Mr E. P. Burbury (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows : There was a large entry at Tattersall's yards on S*"uri3ay last, 55 head of all descriptions being offered, the greater portion of which changed hands. The dull tone of the sale was a striking contrast to tho briskness displayed a fortnight ago ; bub this may be accounted for by the difference in the quality of the horses offered. Oood, heavy, voting draughts were conspicuous by their abacnoe on Satuidivy, and buyers of this class did nofc get their wants supplied. Mr Thos. Reid's term «ei e the Lest hones forward, and sold as under : Gelding, Byrs, Ll6 , mare, Byr?, Ll5 ; colt, rising 4yrs, Ll!2 10s ; mare, aged, LlO For Mr J. tullivan (Waimate) we sold 13 useful horses, aged, at from L3 103 to Ll2 Ids. On behalf of Messrs Kirk, -Walters, O'Brien, M'K»y and others we sold lo draught and light harness horses at quotations. We also aold six dairy cows (just calved) at from L4 17s 6d to L7 7s (3d. Wo quote good, young, heavy draughts, LI 7 to J .22 ; ifledium, LI2 to Ll6 ; aged and inferior ho to L10 ; hacks and harness hors 8, L5 to LlO,
