COMMERCIAL. OAMARU MARKET REPORT.
North Otaoo Times Ofkick, Saturday afternoon. There is a marked change in the imvrkut this week as compaied with last week. Farmers and merchants are hopeful of the price of wheat risine, and indeed transit-, tions have taken place at from Jd to Id in advance of previous ruling rates. The unproved tor.o cf the foreign markets may have something to do with the betterment in the price locally, but that thu quantity of wheat produced in the colony has now been pretty accurately ganged would be a stronger factor towards an improvement in price. Locally some considerable lines have been bought at up to 2s 6Jd, and in special cases 2s 7d has been paid, while f.o.b. 2s 8d has b«-en obtained. There are few transactions in fowls' feed at Is lUd to 2a. Barley is dull at 2s Od to 3s 3d for malting, and milling lots sell at up to 2s 3d. Oats are Hat. Only a few transactions havo taken place at for short Is 2d to Is 3d, and for long feed lid to Is Id. Potatoes are quoted variously from 22s Gd to 32s Gd ; but a number of transactions have trauspircd at 30s. Che re is no change to rcpoit in the other products. In dairy produce there ia a decided firmness. Factory butter is firm at lOd ; dairy-mad? is Id to 2d lower. Kggs have reached the lut;h puce of la 3d a dozen, and pork is at 3|d (heads and feel olF).
