Yesterday tlio games were piot'y well attended, tho Oamaru having a oapiUl muster ; but tho Athletics and Excelsiors must roll out in larger numbers if they want to win their g^me*. There is no denying ttio fact that practice And training win tho matches. Lot clubs see to thip, and enforce tho samo on playera. Thursday week will see the first tussle of the season between the Oamaru and Athletic Clubs, and the game, I am, convinced, will be stubbornly fought out. The Association Olub had a good turnout of member?, and a capital game wbb indulged in in Ongley'a paddock. The Athletics and Excelsiors played a scratch game on tho Old Cricket Ground, and thero were about 13 a-side. D. Bee and VV. Buist captaimd the sides. Some good play was shown, and tho forwards want to be a little less eager to get on the ball, m there was too much off-side play. Hand-b*U *&s frequent also. But the play on tho whole was very good, passing as compared with last week being a good deal better, and some good tushes were indulged in.
