The first meeting of the Committee of the South School was held last evening, when the following were present : Messrs Reid, Mackintosh, Pinol, Singleton, l'enfold, Genfell, Hamilton, Rosie, and Creagh. Mr Creagh took tho chair for the meeting on the motion of Mr Singleton seconded by Mr Rosie. Proposed by Mr Reid, secondsd by Mr Mackintosh, that Mr Creagh be rocketed chairman for the year. (Carried.) Mr Mackintosh proposed, and Mr Singleton seconded, that Mr J mel bo ro-elected secretary and treasurer for tho year. (Carried ) Proposed by ifr Reid, seconded by Mr Rosie, that tho meetings of committee be held on the first Tuesday of each month. (Carried.) A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting. The first meeting of tho newly>elected committee of the Middle School was held last night. There were present : The Roy. Calder, J. Dwyer, G. S. Jones, J, R. Jack, A. Smith, W. H. Rule, and W. Hart, secretary. It was resolved that the New Zealand Fancier be recognised as the official organ of (he society. The Secretary was instructed to write to a number of gentlemen asking thorn to officiate as judges at the forthcoming show, which is to bo hold on the 12th and 13th July. It was resolved to hold the show in tho upper room of tho Union Stores usod formerly as a skating rink, that room being considered well adapted for tho purpose Messrs T. Williamson, A. Smith, and G. 8. Jones were appointed an art union committee. Sliow schedules were distributed, there being 67 classes in poultry, 33 in pigeons, 16 in canaries, and 9 in cakes.
