Tho Hod. W. J. M. Larnach was banquetted by his constituents lasb evening. Mr Cadman was not presenb aa expected. There waa a large attendance, and the proceedings were enthusiastic. The Hon. Mr Cadman has personally inspected the land ab Berwick, said to bo affeoted by the silting up of the Waipnri river. A deputation of farmers urged that) as the Government had ngTed to pay half the coats of tho apppal proceedings for those interested in mining) the sainn should be done for the farmer* The Minister promised to givo (be matter CQoiddornUoQ^ J
