At tbe Police Court this morning, John Richmond Jones w>,s charged with assault ipg bis wife, with intent to do her gtie»( us bodily h»rm, by striking h r on the neck wi'h a nword. It appears that there h»d been some family differences, »nd Jones, drawing hi* sword from ita ■cabb »rd, inflicted a slight wound o» his wife. Accused then went to the police station, and said he had cut off his wife's head. The police had often been oiled in to settle quarrels between accused aad his wife. He wm committed for trial.
