SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.
MVIXGSI'ONE. The annual meeting of householders took place in bhe school 'and was very woll attended. JNine candidates we«"e nominated, and the pol resulted in the fol owing ordor, viz : Messrs Jdo. Pringle senr, 19, Frank Bottiug IG, Leopold Botbing 15, John Pringlo jnr. 14, Benjamin Yeotmn 14, Jonas Oberg 13, Herberb Lory 11. The Chairman (Mr VV. Sutherland) declared the above duly elected, and a vote of bhanks to the chair dosed tho meeting. The incoming committee commence oflico with a ba'ance of L 5. Tho weather continues dry and windy, and there is very litt'e life in mining on accounb oi the scarcity of water on our side of the river.

Morton, J. Pike, J. Ryan, J. Seaman, add W. f-'cott. The committee t/hen held its first; meeting, and on a motion that Mr O. Alortou bo reappointed chuirmun thab gentleman Baid he had served in thab capacity for ho many years thab he wished for this time to be relieved of the duby, and proposed Mr P. Henderson ; this was seconded I y Mr Seaman and carried.
